Best Winter Happy Hour Spots in Hartford
Bar Piña
Happy hour from: Monday – Friday: 4-7PM
A donut shop by day offering breakfast sandwiches, a full coffee bar and fresh pastries, this space turns into a full bar with tapas, cutting-edge craft cocktails, and well curated beer from 4PM on.
With happy hour specials like $6 New York Sours and Rye Manhattans, small Spanish inspired plates and a location in central downtown, why not sneak out of the office a bit early and warm up with a drink here.

Republic at the Linden
Happy hour from: Monday – Friday: 3:30-6:30PM and Sunday ALL DAY
When in doubt, go to Republic (seriously, for every occasion). It’s cozy and eclectic atmosphere, make this place a restaurant you could stay at for hours (and escape from the snow).
There’s plenty of bar seating, couch seating, and everything in between, with tv’s playing the latest games. Order $5-6 small plates like their to-die-for giant pretzels, $5 wines, $4 beer specials and $6 cocktails.
Also, check out first Thursdays of every month for ‘First Thursdays with POSSM and Friends’ where the Professors of Sweet Sweet Music jam out by the bar and create amazing vibes and a great crowd.
Tisane Euro-Asian Cafe
Happy hour from: Monday all night, Tuesday – Friday: 4-6PM
$5 martinis and wines, $3 beers of the week, and $5 small plates like Umami Calamari and BBQ Chicken Spring Rolls, Tisane is a great happy hour spot to grab a drink with friends.
Sip through their happy hour menu or order the perfect winter cocktail like the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, with dark chocolate, vanilla vodka and espresso, or ‘Chocolate Covered Strawberry’ with fresh strawberries, vanilla vodka and dark cocoa topped off with whipped cream.
Little River Restoratives
Little River is a fun little eclectic bar to head to when you want a killer cocktail and don’t want to head too far out of downtown. Might we add it is the perfect cozy escape from the cold. Plus, you can now order small bites from the bar from Banh Meee (Vietnamese Egg Rolls, please).
Follow them on social media to keep up to date with their happy hour specials, because when they have one – you don’t want to miss it. Last year when all of the bars closed for snow storms, our good friend Little River decided to throw a Snow Day Party with all day happy hour specials… and pajamas were encouraged.
Bin 228
Happy hour from: Monday – Friday: 2-5PM
What better way to warm up from the frigid Hartford winter breeze than with a glass of red. With an extensive wine list that pairs perfectly with their delicious plates, Bin 228 is a great place for a relaxing and laid back happy hour.
Plus, happy starts at 2PM so it makes a great spot for a late (and lightly boozy) lunch. Wine and martinis are only $6 and small plates range from $4-7.
Vaughan’s Public House
Happy hour from: Monday – Friday: 3-6PM
An authentic Irish pub and a local Hartford hangout spot, you can never go wrong with drinking at Vaughan’s. The atmosphere is cozy, the drinks are cheap and the food always delivers. Happy hour offers $4 drafts and wines and $5-6 appetizers.
