New Paint and Wine Business Opens on Pratt Street
There’s no greater sense of excitement than seeing a new business open in downtown Hartford – ESPECIALLY when it’s a new opening on Pratt Street.
A couple weeks ago, while I was walking to grab lunch, I noticed a ‘Painting with a Twist’ sign on the window of what used to be Stackpole’s. I immediately reached out to the owner to see what this was about, and what led him to open this new business.
I mean, painting and wine?
I couldn’t have named a better combo for Pratt Street.
Can you give us a little insight into what Painting with Twist is, and what people can expect when they come here?
Painting with a Twist painting sessions are fun art, not fine art. Invite your friends, sip your favorite beverage and enjoy step-by-step instruction with our experienced and enthusiastic local artists. It’s a colorful, casual party atmosphere where you’ll leave your cares behind and go home with a one-of-a-kind painting created by you.
Why did you choose downtown Hartford to open the newest location?
I have been a resident of downtown Hartford and the surrounding area and it frustrated me to have to go to neighboring towns to go on a date, host a kids party, or just go out and do something other than eat and drink.
There is a need that no one is filling so I see an opportunity.
What do you hope to bring to downtown?
Awareness. That there is a need for entertainment that is unconventional, safe, repeatable and social. This is just phase one of my master plan (input sinister laugh here).
What do you believe this location will bring that the others won’t?
This location will bring a diverse group of people together. Corporate types, downtown dwellers, artists, non artists, nonprofits, visitors, etc. This location is attractive, well lit, and deserves a place equally as diverse.
You can’t beat the beauty of Pratt street.
When will you be opening?
Avoiding any hiccups we will have a soft opening mid December and the grand opening December 31 during Hartford First Night.
Can people host parties / events at Painting with a Twist? Come with just one or two people?
People can come alone, with a partner or a group so long as they are coming to have fun. We offer numerous public events and private functions such as:
