Where to Find Your Perfect Christmas Tree in the Hartford Area

Nothing gets you in the Christmas mood like going to pick out your Christmas tree, tying it up to the roof of your car, bringing it home and spending the day covering it with decorations.

Luckily, there are plenty of farms in the local Hartford area that offer great prices, varieties, and holiday activities.

Mark’s Christmas Trees

About the farm: Mark’s Christmas Trees has been open for 40 years so you know they have quality trees. They offer free tree netting to make it easy for transporting your tree, as well as fresh wreaths, and garlands. PLUS, they are offering FREE delivery of trees in West Hartford, Hartford, Newington, Farmington (east of Rte. 10), Wethersfield and New Britain – right to your door.

Hog River 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Farm

Location: Hog River Brewery – 1429 Park Street, Hartford
Hours: Saturday, December 8th from 11 AM – 10 PM
Price: $55 ( pre-register) or $60 at the door
While you’re there: Your $55 (or $60) gets you a Christmas tree, Chocolate Milk Stout holiday bomber, and a package of chocolate covered bacon! After you get your Christmas tree, stick around and explore some of the many vendors that will be posted around the brewery as the KNOW GOOD Holiday Bazaar is happening the same day (from 11 AM – 5 PM). And per usual at Hog River there will be food from Craftbird Food Truck. And, (as if you needed another reason to go) there will also be Faddy’s Donuts & Ice Cream there so you can get a head start on that winter bod!

While you’re there: Along with the wide variety of trees, Maple Hollow Tree Farm also sells handmade wreaths, table arrangements, centerpieces, and other decorative items. Make sure to stop by their Christmas shop for lots of ornaments, decorations, and gifts! Also, feel free to bring along your pups – dogs on leashes are welcome!

Dzen Christmas Trees 

Location: 174 Barber Hill Road, South Windsor
Hours: Daily from 9 AM – 4 PM
Price: $52
Variety: Call for most up to date varieties
While you’re there: This family owned and operated farm offers over 100 acres of cut your own Christmas Trees, so you’re bound to find the perfect one! Make sure you check out the reindeer while enjoying some treats and hot cocoa. The friendly staff here at Dzen Farm will bundle your tree and supply twine to tie your tree to your car.

While you’re there: Karabin Farms has the option of both – you choose, you cut (saws provided) or pre-cut trees, as well as Christmas wreaths, Christmas boughs, and garlands. Before you leave, make sure you stop into their farm market and gift shop to find organic turkeys and maple syrup made from trees right on the farm. They also offer winter wagon rides around the property!

Holiday Farm

  • Sat – Sun: 9AM – 4:15PM

Price: $55 (cash or check only!)
Varieties: Fraser Fir, Canaan Fir, Blue Spruce, White Spruce, White Pine, and Concolor Fir
While you’re there: Cut down your perfect Christmas tree at this family operated farm in New Hartford. With a large selection of both the types of trees the offer and the amount of trees that are available, there’s no doubt you’ll fall in love with a Christmas tree here. Plus, the staff here is super helpful, friendly, and will provide you with a saw, assist you with picking out a tree, bailing it, and putting it onto your car.

 

Make sure you call all farms before going to get the most up to date varieties available and hours. Most farms run on “Mother Nature’s schedule” so things are always changing!
