Goats N' Roses

Eat Farm to Table at Goats N’ Roses

Looking for the perfect outdoor seating restaurant to soak up the last bit of the summer sun?

Goats N’ Roses has it all: a perfect outdoor patio, amazing food, an ice cream shack AND cute goats – all set on ‘The Farm at Carter Hill’ in Marlborough. There’s also an adorable Bed & Breakfast on the farm as well.

An Edgy Outdoor Eatery

From the second you drive up to Goats N’ Roses, you know you’re some place special.

The large outdoor seating area is warm and welcoming, and the antique mismatched dishes and mason jar water glasses give this place a quirky vibe.

If the wait is too long to sit in the patio section, you have the option of ordering the food at the window and eating it at one of the many picnic tables around the property. Or, if you bring your own blanket, you can have a picnic right on the grass in one of their large fields.

This place is cash only but if you don’t come prepared there’s an ATM inside next to the bar. And, while they do offer some delicious craft beers and wine, the options are limited… but that’s OK because you always have the option to BYOB. (secret tip: the up and coming, off the beaten path, brewery ‘Fat Orange Cat’ is near here and has some BOMB beer)

A Farm Fresh Menu

Right off the bat, we wanted to order everything on their menu. All of Goats N’ Roses’ food is farm fresh, with options that you won’t find elsewhere in the area, so it’ll be hard to choose what to eat.

We started with the special of buffalo burrata and lemme tell ya, it was heaven on a plate.

While at Goats N’ Roses we felt it was only appropriate to eat something with “goat” in the title. So, for the main course, we chose the ‘Purple Goat’ with crispy eggplant cutlets, greens, tomatoes, goat cheese, roasted peppers, melted provolone, garlic aioli and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. YUM

And we all know, no meal is complete without ice cream.

So, we made sure we headed over to the cute little ice cream shack after our meal.

Wandering Through the Farm

A little further down from the ice cream shack there is a general store packed with all sorts of jams, jellies and every random thing you would expect to find at this adorable place.

Shortly after exploring the store, we found ourselves wandering into the farm bar. Which, hint… hint… is the perfect place for a quirky rustic wedding. This two-story bar has neon signs and a big disco ball hanging from the ceiling, a perfect ambiance to dance the night away.

OH, and we can’t forget our favorite part. The goats themselves.

As soon as you walk up to the fences, a couple of adorable goats will come up and greet you. You’re allowed to pet them or feed them through the fence (score!). There is also another shed nearby with a peacock and a small flock of chickens.

Movies On The Green

Goats N’ Roses also has movies on the green every Saturday during the summer, where you can bring your own blanket and wine, order some takeout from the restaurant and have the perfect lil’ Goats N’ Roses picnic.
