The Popover Bistro & Bakery | Brunch Series
Tucked away in the quaint town of Simsbury you’ll find yourself in brunch heaven at Popover Bistro & Bakery. Set back in a cute little set of shops, this small bistro is easily one of our favorite brunch spots in the area.
First off, this adorable bistro and bakery is great for groups of all sizes, offering a variety of seating options; from classic to high top long tables for big groups, a bar area ideal for solo diners, and an outdoor dining patio (which we are so excited to see open back up!).
One of our favorite things about Popovers is the display of baked goods that greets you upon walking in, packed with muffins, scones, cookies and much more. They offer a variety of traditional style baked goods, as well as gluten-free and vegan options. Our personal favorite way to start any meal is with the gluten-free ‘Morning Glory’ muffin.
At Popovers, there is something that can be found for everyone. Almost the entire menu is gluten free or can be made gluten-free (besides the popover itself of course!). Also, almost everything can be made vegan or dairy free – so there’s really no such thing as a dietary restriction here.
But this doesn’t mean everything’s “super healthy.” Some of our favorite guilty pleasures include the Fried Chicken and Waffles (also gluten free), and the Emma T which is a gluten-free waffle topped with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella, and whipped cream (uhm, yes please).
Or, if you are workin’ on that summer bod and want to have a lighter brunch, this is the place for you! From fresh smoothies to breakfast bowls like the ‘Sweet Potato and Oatmeal Bowl’ – there are plenty of fresh and healthy options to choose from.
Not that we need another reason to love this place, but to push us over the edge, Popover offers an incredible variety of toasts (try to calm your inner white girl excitement). With options like the ‘Harvest Toast’ made with avocado, blue cheese, diced pear, walnuts and honeycomb or ‘The Yard Goat Toast,’ made with avocado, goat cheese, roasted tomato and topped with a fried egg – it’s hard not be in toast heaven here.
& few things can make us as happy as the words “breakfast served all day.” Lucky for us, Popover serves breakfast ALL DAY, EVERY DAY of the week. They also just extended their weekday hours so they are now staying open for dinner Monday through Friday!

Saturday 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Sunday 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Tip* weekend mornings can get a bit crowded so call ahead to put your name on the list to save some waiting time while you’re there!
